NATIONAL MATHEMATICS AMBASSADORS’ COMPETITION (NAMAC) 2025/2026
The national mathematics ambassadors’ competition is a follow up to the MATHEMATICS AMBASSADORS’ DAY award presentation held in selected primary and secondary schools across the country.
This intellectual and epoch making event will be conducted in selected schools that hosted the MATHEMATICS AMBASSADORS’ Award day in their various schools.
MAJOR OBJECTIVES AND KEY DELIVERABLES OF THIS EVENT.
- To serve as a follow up and tool for sustaining the interest and excitement that has been ignited for Mathematics and selected MATHEMATICS AMBASSADORS across the country.
- It will serve as a major hub for the convergence and discovery of the finest and best of academic and intellectual minds among young Africans specifically across Nigeria.
- This national competition will inject in the participants the spirit of academic discipline, mastery of a wide range of topics in mathematics, proper time management skills, and the needed confidence to face any future local and global competition.
- To reward academic excellence with cash and consolation prizes, and counter the current negative trajectory and culture that rewards unimportant and irrelevant achievements to the detriment of genuine and meaningful academic and intellectual performance.
We trust that this noble initiative will change the negative perception and narrative about mathematics, instill a new and positive mindset about mathematics and unleash the great academic and innovative potentials in all participants across the country. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT NATIONAL MATHEMATICS AMBASSADORS’ COMPETITION
1. WHEN IS REGISTRATION STARTING?
Answer: Registration starts in September, 2025
2. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO IN THE COMPETITION?
Answer: All MATHEMATICS AMBASSADORS awarded in selected schools across the country are eligible to participate.
3. WHAT CATEGORY OF LEARNERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?
Answer: Learners from primary 1 (Year 1) to SS3 (Year 12) are eligible to participate.
4. CAN A NON- MATHEMATICS AMBASSADOR ALSO PARTICIPATE?
Answer: Yes a non Mathematics ambassadors that is fully prepared for the competition can also participate.
5. ARE THERE STUDY GUIDES GIVEN TO CANDIDATES FOR THE COMPETITION?
Answer : Yes each registered candidate is given a class based study guide to as a necessary preparatory material for the competition. Questions will be drawn from the class based study guides given to the candidates for the various stages of the mathematics ambassadors’ competition.
6. DO CANDIDATES GET THE SAME STUDY GUIDES?
Answer: Study guides are class based. That means there is a specific study guide for each class.
7. ARE THERE CASH AND CONSOLATION PRIZES TO BE WON?
Answer: Yes , cash and consolation prizes will be won across the various classes from primary 1 to SS3. (Please see registration form for details)
8. ARE THERE SPECIFIC GUIDELINES FOR THE REGISTERED CANDIDATES?
Answer: Yes there are very important guidelines for the candidates. Please see registration form sent to your child’s school for specific information in this regard.
Project: REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE SENT TO VARIOUS SCHOOLS THAT HOSTED THE MATHEMATICS AMBASSADORS’ DAY COMPETITION . HEADS OF SCHOOLS ARE TO GIVE SUCH FORMS TO THE LEARNERS TO TAKE HOME TO THEIR PARENTS TO FILL, MAKE
PAYMENTS FOR REGISTRATION THROUGH THE SCHOOL AND RETURN FILLED FORMS TO SCHOOL.A RECENT PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH SHOULD BE ATTACHED TO EACH FILLED FORM (see registration form for specific amount for registration)
